DeWitt Middle School is easily accessible by bus, served by both route #31 and #32 on TCAT. It hosts an after-school program called SuperCAT. The program runs from 3:30pm to 5:30pm Monday through Friday. Tutors are most needed 3:30-4:30 on Monday through Thursday. This is when the homework hour occurs. All members of the after-school program being middle school students, homework topics include algebra, geography, American history, languages, and life sciences.

At 4:30 is snack time, and the introduction of the rest of the day’s activities. Some students will continue working on homework for the rest of program, but most will take part in the activities that are offered. Various groups throughout Ithaca, including the Ithaca Youth Bureau and the ScienCenter, come in with a number of different activities to take part in. It’s a nice relaxing end of the day, and both the tutors and the kids always have a great time!

Fridays are a little different, since none of the students have homework. Usually it’s a quiet day with some cooking lessons or a movie to watch. Sometimes staff is needed on Fridays, but we need the most help on Monday through Thursday!
